Vivy -Fluorite Eye's Song- Episode 13 Analysis Script (ENG)

The episode starts with Vivy being sent back in time. It’s nice to see internal consistency as the time travel visuals are identical to when Matsumoto was sent back in Episode 1. Seeing a more experienced Vivy handle the AI outbreak is interesting too. We skip from when she wakes up to when she hears her song for the first time and she doesn’t bother talking to the blonde AI any more, nor does she try to plug her cable into her, she just snaps her neck. She says sorry though, because Vivy is still the sweetest person in this world. However, because being kind to the man is why he died, this time she is strict with him and saves his life. She doesn’t bother trying to block or even run from the car because she knows Matsumoto is coming. It’s such a cool moment! Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song #13 Docks Scene Analysis Script (ENG)

Based on this video: https://youtu.be/DrYw-KGfjrU This scene shows just how far Matsumoto and Vivy have come in their relationship, as mentioned in a tweet by Nagatsuki Tappei, as well as how much they’ve grown as people. Early on, Vivy was unable to emote outside of specific programs she ran when acting as a member of NiaLand’s staff, which I may make a video of its own. Meanwhile, Matsumoto completely denied the existence of any sort of soft emotions in AIs throughout their journey (mocking Grace’s marriage and the idea of Ophelia feeling love), or even that Vivy was anything but a business associate when asked by Grace. The scene starts with Vivy promising she won’t act out on her own, which is something Matsumoto has complained about her doing in the past, including during his outburst in Episode 12. Matsumoto continues to joke around about going up against a super AI and how Vivy “prodded Toak” into helping them, then admits he’s sad he never got to hear Vivy perform. She retired ...

Vivy: Choosing Humanity - an analysis of one of Vivy's most important themes; humanity and free will.

There are several arcs in Vivy’s story, but the question at the core of Vivy’s journey is “what does it mean to pour your heart into something”. She struggles and asks several AIs this question over the course of 100 years, but the answer turns out to be incredibly simple, which only makes it more poignant. This will be one of two overarching essays I have planned for Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song, which will be followed by a breakdown of each individual episode.
